Why should I use an insect remover?

Although it may seem quite effective, and certainly economical, to use a wet cloth, it's not possible to quickly proceed to car washing, while also not dissolving and neutralizing the acid that insects contain.

Just as bird droppings are harmful to your car's paint, insects are just as terrible, and even occur more often, especially in the summer. Insects are acidic, and this makes them especially dangerous in the summer, when they can sit and bake in the sun.

Therefore, I recommend that you use an insect remover that suits your needs, which effectively dissolves and removes them, so you avoid damaging your car's paint, both from insect splatters that can permanently burn into the paint, but also to avoid wash scratches when you wash the surface.

A must-have in summer

Although there are many products that one might want to have for car care, I would undoubtedly say that insect remover is a must-have when summer arrives.

There are an incredible number of insects in the air, especially if you drive in the evening. When they hit the front, they splatter and can be difficult to remove, even with a high-pressure washer!

With insect remover, it becomes easier to remove the annoying insects; simply spray it on the car, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse, preferably with a high-pressure washer.

Different types of insect removers

Just as there are different car shampoos, there are different types of insect removers, each with its own purpose. The reason, in short, is that it entirely depends on what you want.

For the professional or those who want to remove insects as quickly as possible, and will still follow up with paint protection, you simply want the strongest type, in contrast to the enthusiast who wants to preserve their wax, and wants it to work but be gentle.

pH Neutral insect remover

The most gentle variant, which preserves your existing paint protection such as wax and paint sealant, while still dissolving and removing as much insect residue as possible.

With this safety, you may also find that you need to reapply the insect remover, as it is not as strong as the more powerful variants, but never mind, then you won't have to reapply the wax!

Strong insect remover

Unlike the pH-neutral insect remover, this type directly attacks with the sole purpose of removing as much insect residue as possible, without considering whether it breaks down and removes wax or paint sealant.

This, of course, has the advantage that it removes all or almost all insect residue the first time, and if you are going to polish or treat it with paint protection anyway, it is simply an advantage.

On the other hand, if you have a car with ceramic coating, this is undoubtedly my preferred version, as it does not break down or degrade the treatment.

The question is simply, can you make do with the pH neutral one, or do you not mind reapplying paint protection a little more often?
