Drying with a microfiber towel - Without water spots and wash scratches!
With a proper microfiber towel, you can quickly and effectively dry your car, completely free of water spots and streaks. Drying your car correctly is just as important as washing it; you use a wash mitt that is incredibly soft, and your microfiber towel should be too.
By choosing a soft microfiber towel, you reduce friction, making it glide more easily over your car's beautiful paintwork, thereby minimizing the risk of wash scratches.
Another characteristic of a good microfiber towel is that it's nice and thick and fluffy. We sometimes overlook a spot on the car, and there's a bit of dirt left over, and the fantastic thing about a thick towel is that it can pull the dirt away from the surface, so it isn't dragged around.
No matter which microfiber towel you're looking for, you'll find a high-quality one right here.
Why should I choose a microfiber towel over a chamois?
The microfiber towel has long since replaced the chamois for drying cars of water and limescale. The reason is simple: it's much easier to work with and doesn't require constant wringing to remove even more water from your car's surface.
Another advantage is that it is a soft, thick, and fluffy towel that can remove remaining dirt, whereas a chamois merely pushes it around.
With a chamois, the chance of causing wash scratches is huge, which is why we always recommend a microfiber towel.
Why should I use a microfiber towel?
You should use a microfiber towel to dry your car of water because limescale and minerals are both harmful and unsightly. Even though your car's paintwork is incredibly hard, water spots can cause permanent damage to your otherwise beautiful paint.
Therefore, it's important to remove them so you don't have to polish the car or, in the worst case, repaint it.
Although it's not a catastrophe if you forget to dry the car just once, it is always our recommendation to dry the car after washing.
Which microfiber towel is best for me?
There are many different types of microfiber towels, and it can be difficult to choose the right one.
Here are my recommendations:
-
For car paintwork: Choose a microfiber towel with a Twist Loop design
-
For car glass: Choose a microfiber towel with a Waffle Weave design
You can certainly use both designs for both car paint and glass, but this combination is our preferred. If you only need to choose one type, Twist Loop is always our recommendation.
Dry multiple cars with just one microfiber towel
You can easily dry multiple cars with just one microfiber towel, though it requires choosing correctly, but it is definitely possible! You just need to choose a microfiber towel that is large, covered on both sides, and has a high amount of microfiber, i.e., GSM (grams per square meter).
Our preferred choice in this category is undoubtedly Monello Doppino Doppio, which is 70 x 80 cm and 1100 GSM, and can easily dry two cars.
