Wash Mitt & Wash Sponge Guide

The Rag Company Wash

Simon Bach |

How do I choose the right washing glove?

When choosing a new wash mitt, your requirements are for what it will be used for, and which type you like best. There are several different varieties of wash mitts and wash sponges.

In addition to what the wash mitt is to be used for, it is also very important that it is made according to quality principles, both with edges, the length of fibers and generally whether it is produced well enough.

Fortunately, you don't have to think too much about whether the wash mitts and sponges we offer are good enough, because fortunately they are really good. The most important thing is whether you want Premium, or Super-Premium as we call it.

The reason for the difference here is that some of the wash gloves we have are made in a slightly cheaper way, but still of really good quality, these are the ones we call Premium.

Super-Premium is typically the goods produced in South Korea, where only the best machines and fibers are carefully selected to be used for The Rag Company's microfiber products.

Why is it important to have the right washing glove?

During a car wash, the first thing that touches the car's surface is your wash mitt or sponge. In addition to the soap playing a big role in this, your washing medium also plays a really big role.

There are an incredible number of ways to wash your car, but all of them still come back to the principle that what you use to wash it is of proper quality.

Whether you use a wash mitt, sponge, or even microfiber cloths to wash, the most important thing is that it doesn't scratch your car's surface.

Here at Bachs Bilpleje, we are incredibly committed to keeping cars in their best condition, and that is why we only select the best products.

What kinds of washing gloves and washing sponges are there?

In our webshop, there are currently 2 different washing gloves and 3 different washing sponges.

The Rag Company Chenille Wash Glove

The Rag Company Chenille Washing Mitt , looks a bit like a bunch of long clumping fibers, this one is super good at catching dirt, lifting it off the surface, and pulling it well into its fibers. Compared to the other candidates, this is a cheaper washing medium, but still works according to the basic principles.

The really good thing about this particular washing glove is that you can easily use it for places that are not the cleanest, such as rims, engine compartments, door seams, etc., and you don't have to be too upset if it gets dirty.

The Rag Company Ultra Wash Mitt

The Rag Company Ultra Wash Mitt is the upgrade from the Chenille wash mitt, and now we're in Super-Premium quality. It still has long fibers, although not as long as the Chenille version, but on the other hand it hits a larger surface, whereby the pressure from the wash mitt is distributed more evenly.

By distributing the pressure more evenly, you also avoid the dirt being pressed down unnecessarily against the car's surface. This type of washing glove is also incredibly soft and pleasant to the touch.

It holds the soap really well, so you can easily take several panels at a time without necessarily having to put it back in the bucket.

The Rag Company Ultra Black Sponge

The Rag Company Ultra Black Sponge is undoubtedly the favorite when it comes to Rinseless Wash. Great to hold as it is designed with ergonomic features so that your hand doesn't get tired.

Of course, it is built with a lot of grooves, which allows the dirt to be carried away when the car's surface is washed, and when it comes into contact with the wash bucket, the dirt is easily released.

Without saying that TRC has copied the Big Red Sponge, they have at least taken great inspiration from it, and have further developed it into a washing sponge that can not only be used for rinse-free car washing, but also for traditional auto shampoo.

How do I maintain my wash mitt?

In order to extend the life of your washing glove or washing sponge, it is very important that it is maintained correctly. In addition to extending the life, it also ensures that there is no unnecessary dirt and grime that continues to be present.

If it is very dirty, it is recommended to place it in a bucket of lukewarm water, no hotter than 40 degrees, together with Shiny Garage Enzyme . This loosens the dirt and ensures that it finally cleans the wash mitt or sponge.

If it is not very dirty, it can be rinsed clean, where it has simply been given some kind of pre-wash, sprayed on and thoroughly rinsed through. Alternatively, it can also be cleaned on its own, or together with other microfiber cloths in the washing machine.

However, it is again recommended that Shiny Garage Enzyme be used.
