What is Rim Coating?
Rim coating, which is ceramic coating, is really great for protecting your rims, and with the right maintenance, you also get the longest durability of protection.
Our rim coatings are fantastic at repelling dirt and grime, while adding extra shine so your rims always look great. By repelling dirt and grime, cleaning your rims becomes incredibly easy.
When a good rim cleaner is used, the rims can often become so clean that they hardly need to be touched with a rim brush, and that is also one of the reasons why we love rim coating.
What is Rim Sealing?
Rim sealant comes in many different types, some in solid form, and others in liquid form, but what they all have in common is that they are easy to work with and provide your rims with protection against wind, weather, dirt and grime.
Just like with rim coating, it also makes cleaning easier, as dirt has a harder time sticking to the surface, as it becomes incredibly smooth.
The easiest form of rim seal is undoubtedly our rinse sealer, and it simply needs to be sprayed on, left for a short moment, and then rinsed off.
They don't provide as long-lasting protection as a permanent rim seal, but it's so incredibly easy that it can be done once a month or whenever necessary.
What is the difference between rim sealing and rim coating?
The big difference between rim sealing and rim coating is how long of a protection you want and how much energy you want to spend on your rims. With a rim coating you get the ultimate protection that lasts as long as possible.
On the other hand, rim coating requires a little more work, and the rims often have to be removed to get the back side. But the result is also worth it and is definitely worth it.
With a rim seal we would not recommend removing the rims to treat the back, and just treat them at the front. It does not last as long as a rim coating, and therefore we would never recommend treating the back unless the rims are already off.
So in short , you want the best protection , but require a little extra work - then rim coating is the one you need.
Do you want the easy one that still makes sense - then it's rim sealing
